“As a student, Sterling provided me with a love of Vermont and a forever-remembered
community. I decided to become a monthly donor because Sterling’s mission to use
education as a force to advance ecological thinking and action is so timely and necessary. Thank you, Sterling, for providing me with this option which I can easily build
into my monthly budget. In return, I hear from the College regularly. Being a part of
the Beehive, a community of monthly donors, shows my support as an alumnx, makes
possible low debt or no debt for those who have come after me, and is a way for me
to cheer on faculty and students from afar. I am honored to be a part of the hive, each
of us bringing drops of nectar to the precious community at Sterling that makes life
a little bit sweeter for those learning, living, and working in Craftsbury, in Kentucky
at the Wendell Berry Farming Program, and across the earth through the Global Field
Studies program.”
Eli Mutino graduated from Sterling in 2011 with a Self-Designed BA degree in Farming
& Social Justice. They are currently enrolled in their concentration year of a trauma-informed master’s in social work degree program at Barry University in Miami,
Florida. They had the privilege of working in a nursing home in their first year and are
finishing their second year working for LGBTQ+ youth. Eli sends so much love!
